
If you know me IRL or have been following my work, you know how much I love Ani DiFranco. She has been an inspiration of mine for decades and I’ve had the incredible pleasure of interviewing her five times for various publications. (I’m pleased to say she’s as lovely as can be. She even pointed out my kid and dedicated his favorite song to him at one of her concerts. It’s nice when your hero turns out to be super cool.)
Anyway, one of the things I’ve always loved about her is that she lives and breathes art. Her lyrics, poetry, and paintings are frequently inspired by other music, books, and films she’s enjoyed.
