Visual Art: If you’re not familiar with the work of Jenny Lawson, get thee to a bookstore! (Or library. Whatever.) She’s the author of numerous books, including Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things, Broken (In the Best Possible Way), and my favorite, Let’s Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir. She writes about her lifelong struggle with depression and anxiety, but in a way that somehow makes even the darkest moments laugh-out-loud funny. (She also maintains a blog, which is well worth the read.)
