It’s time for your monthly roundup! Here are all the things—music, books, videos—connecting back to the artists I interviewed in October.

If you recall, I chatted with husband-and-wife duo Chris and J.J. Grabenstein about their book series for children; multidisciplinary artist Jocelyn Mackenzie about her music and her work as a psychic medium; and writer-producer-cartoonist Bruce Eric Kaplan about his new book, They Went Another Way.

I had such a great time chatting with each of them. Here are some goodies inspired by their words and their work.

Jocelyn Mackenzie: From 2007-2015, Jocelyn was a member of the folk-pop trio Pearl and the Beard. A few of the band’s songs are on the playlist, along with some of her solo work. She’s also a member of the Righteous Babes, a “supergroup” of female artists who have all released work on Righteous Babe Records. Their cover of Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Maps” is on the list. Jocelyn’s work has often been compared to Tori Amos and Kate Bush, and she mentioned during our chat that she’s also influenced by They Might Be Giants, so songs from all three are in the playlist.
